Valley View is nine minutes north of the yard and has the odd distinction of being split across three different councils.

Valley View is divided between the City of Salisbury, the City of Port Adelaide Enfield and the City of Tea Tree Gully, so which council you deal with depends on which side of the suburb you live on. Dry Creek runs east to west through the reserve and separates the Valley View golf course, a public course dating to the mid-1960s, from the rest of the parkland. A pitch-and-putt course sits in Thomas Turner Reserve on Grand Junction Road.

The housing here went up either side of 1970, which puts it right in the window where original roofing, fencing and hot water systems are being replaced rather than repaired. Valley View also throws up more fencing steel than most of our suburbs, because the blocks are bigger and the old galvanised and tube fencing is coming out as yards get redone. Fencing is low-value per kilo but it is heavy, so a full run is still worth collecting.

Big blocks mean long runs of old fencing, and fencing is awkward rather than heavy to handle. Cut it into lengths you can lift if you can, or leave it and we will. Because the suburb is split three ways between councils, do not assume a hard rubbish collection covers your street before you check which one you are in.
